Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they respond to the specific concerns presented in the reading passage. Problems for sending human to MArs
The reading and lecture are both about sending humans to Mars that before doing this work some problems should solve by experts. The author of reading believes that some problems cause this project is not practical. The lecture challenges the statements made by the author. Professor is of the opinion that these problems can solve by some strategies.
First of all, the author suggests that rounding trips to Mars does needs essential substances, but it is impossible because the spacecraft has a little space. This problem is challenged by the lecture. She says that astronauts can use the hydroponic method because this way solves their problem. Furthermore, he argues that in this system plants grow in water instead of soil, so astronauts can cultivate plant crops in the spacecraft. Moreover, these plants absorb carbon dioxide then release fresh oxygen, consequently astronauts have fresh air.
Secondly, the writer contends that astronauts cannot be in zero-gravity environments for a long time. The article notes zero-gravity space cause reduces muscle mass and bone density. The article, however, rebuts this by asserting that astronauts can exercise in the space station. She elaborates on this by mentioning that this manner helps to prevent decreasing muscle. In addition, they can take minerals like calcium which has a positive effect on bone density.
Finally, it is stated in the article that Mars has harmful space radiation, also the magnetic field in the interplanetary space not be able to protect them in the face of the radiation. The lecture, on the other hand, posits that the sun has occasionally detrimental radiation. Professor says that to avoid this event the spacecraft can equip with an instrument that monitors solar radiations and he mentions that spacecraft can have small shield. As a result, when solar radiations level are low in the space astronauts stay in unshielded capacity and when solar radiations detected by instruments they can wait in the shielded area.
