First,when meerkats eat food one of the meerkat acts as a sentinel to look out for predators and warn others in case of danger. The passage says that, the sentinel meerkat doesn't gain anything and has to go without food. However according to speaker a recent study has indicated that, meerkat which acts as sentinel already has a full stomach.
Another point that the speaker states about meerkats is that, the sentinel meerkat has a better chance of escaping from predator. Because on giving an alert the herd movement would attract predator and the sentinel meerkat can escape during this diversion. This strongly contrasts with what the passage says. The passage says it is the sentinel meerkat which is at a greater risk.
Even for humans, donating an organ to another person is a altruistic act according to passage, but the donor does receive appreciation from society. The speaker says this non materialistic reward is something which the donor gains, hence this is not an altruistic act.

Thirdly, passage suggests unselfish acts of human like sharing of food or donating body organs to family members or strangers do not provide him any rewards or praise. People who try to do some benefit acts do not get any good reward in return. However, lecturer suggests that even if a person donates a non valuable thing to a stranger then also he will be praised or get rewards.
