The passage and the lecture both discuss the merits and dimerits of shortened work week.
fiisly,The reading asserts that by mitigating the work week not only the employers costly errors will reduce as a result of being more rested and alert, but also companies have the chance to hire more employers which can reduce unemployement rate. The lecturer refute the passage claim becuase hiring new workers in cosly so as to providing train, medical needs, more office space, and computers.
besides, the passsage hold the view that, although employers will have much more quality time to spend with their family by accepting the option to work 4 days a week, it can put their work at risk as a result of incrised eployees' expectation to do the same work by working more and more in a day and even they will lose their job as a result of reduced job abilities. Also, employees prefer 5 days working for managers and it is possible that they pass over promotions due to working less.
lastly, the reading looks into shortened work week as a chance for employees to pursue private interests and to enjoy leisure time, but the lexturere confront this point of view becuase of all above reasons which can lead to dissatisfaction of employers instead of inhancing their life quality.
