The lecturer disagrees with every point that the author made in the reading passage regarding how teamwork can be good for the company by bringing in following examples.
First of all, the lecturer disapproves the advantages of putting people in teams by stating that individual can work or make a decision faster than teams. The author from the reading passage claims that teams can work more quickly than individual hence they have more expertise and manpower. However, the lecturer states that team is way slower than an individual due to many differing opinions that people have when it comes to making a decision in the company. In order for a team to move forward with a decision, every member has to reach an agreement on the decision with other members. Whereas, the individual will not take any permission or opinion and will proceed with his or her ideas.
Secondly, the lecturer refutes the idea of a person getting recognition from his or her peers when the project becomes successful. The author thinks that members of the team who come up with creative solutions will be respected among his or her peers. However, the lecturer states that the team will get recognition when the project becomes a hit. The opposite effect would also be true which is that the all the team members will share the responsibility when the projects fail.
Finally, according to the lecturer, not being able to finish work faster and not being able to get recognition for those who contributed are the two reasons why that team is a good solution for a company.
