The professor discusses the arguments against the belief that dinosaurs are endotherms. The information she presents contradicts facts outlined in the reading passage.
First, the lecturer mentions that discovering dinosaur fossils in Polar Region does not necessarily imply that dinosaurs are endotherms. Plus, it is possible that Polar Region perhaps was warmer than today, even warm enough that non-endotherms animals could live in. Moreover, it is probable that they would hybernated when the weather of that area had become cold. On the other hand, according to the passage since only animals with body temperature much higher than Polar Region can live there along with the fact that dinosaur fossils finding defenitly shows that they were endotherms.
Second, the speaker states that leg position of dinosaurs under their body helped them carry their bulky body and their massive weight. Then legs locating underneath the body does not necessarily serve for running. However, the reading specifies that since all endtherms legs located underneath the body like dinosaurs, then dinsosaurs were endotherms.
Third, the professor points out that although dinosaurs skeleton and bone structure were full of Haversian canals, there were also growth rings in order to lower the rate of growth during cold weather. Next, when the weather became warmer, they start growing again and these events occurred periodically. In contrast, the reading makes it clear that because of the existence of Haversian canals in their bone structure, dinosaurs used them in order to have rapid body growth which a special feature of endtherms animals.
