Both the reading passage and the lecture are about dinosaurs. The article claims that dinosaurs were actually endotherms and provides three reasons of support. However, the lecture states many scientist does not agree with dinosaurs were endotherms and refutes each of author's claim.
First, the author states that some dinosaurs fossils have been founded in Polar Regions this proves the idea that dinosaurs were endotherms. The professor refutes this point. She claims, this does not prove the argument that dinosaurs were endotherms because while dinosaurs on earth, polar regions much warmer than today. And dinosaurs migrated to polar regions because of the warmer climate of these regions.
Second, the article claims that leg position and the movement of dinosaurs greatly suggest the idea that dinosaurs were endotherm species. On the other hand the professor casts doubt onto this claim by stating leg position and the movement does not necessary mean the dinosaurs were endotherms. Because of these features dinosaurs had ability to run fast and support more weight.
Third, the reading passage states that bone structure of dinosaurs one of the feature of endothermy. Conversely, the lecturer states there is a fact that dinosaurs had Haversian canals. However, dinosaurs also had growth ring. That is why dinosaurs had growth pattern. And that pattern is only found in species which are not endotherms.
