The reading and the lecture are both about drastic decline in reading literatural books in new generation. The author of the reading believes that this decline would lead to have bad result in culture and future of literature. The lecturer cast doubt on claims made by the author and rebutes them. Let's take a closer look at both.
To begin with, the author of the reading pushes forth the idea that the diminish in reading literature hase been unfortunate due to that there are not enough mind intensifier. On the other hand, the lecturer says that there are other forms of creative and high quality forms of topics like history and so which can stimulate intellectual abilities. I this way she reject the idea that the important benefits of reading literatures is missed out.
Secondly, The reading contends that the level of culture has been lowered as people instead of reading interesting novels and other kinds of precise books they watch TV. This point is challenged by lecturer. She asserts that it is true that generaly people asign less time reading books. She notes out that culture and forms of expressing has been changed and so that people are exposed to other forms of culture which are in high quality.
Last but not least, the author mentions that writer are in poor financial condition due to decline in investing in publishing industry which is the result of the trend of reading. On the other hand, the lecturer claims that most of books are so difficult to read for ne generation and so blame is on writers.
