The reading and the speaker discuss the decline of the rate of young people reading literature books from different perspectives. The speaker negates all the ideas has mentioned in the article.
First of all, the author of the reading points out that today young people rarely read literature books. By reading less literature books they miss out a lot of important benefits. This point is challenged by the speaker. He restates the fact that even though people today do not read literature books as they did in the past, they love to read other books, such as science and history books. Those books are highly quality and help people to create and increase the ability of imagination as well. Do not assume that only literature books benefit people.
Secondly, the author of the reading contends that watching movies and listening to music has lowered the level of culture in general. The speaker rebuts this argument by saying that culture has changed many forms. Watching brilliant movies and listening to enjoyable music are ways to develop culture as well.
Finally, the author of the reading states that there are many talented writers, but they lack of audience. The speaker, on the other hand, opposes this point by saying that do not quickly make conclusion. In fact the writers today seem to write the stories that are difficult for readers to understand. Therefore, people tend to read the books, which were written in the past than the books are written today.
