TPO-15 - Integrated Writing Task The cane toad is a large (1.8 kg) amphibian species native to Central and South America. It was deliberately introduced to Australia in 1935 with the expectation that it would protect farmers' crops by eating harmful insec

The article and the lecture are mainly argued about the distraction of the cane toad and its consequences. The article states that since the cane toad effects the native species they are proposed several ways control their population and provide three reasons to support. However, the professor opposes this point by saying it won't be that easy to control and he mentioned the climes in the reading passage are unsuccessful. He refutes the each of the author's opinions.
First, the article states that build a national fence is a better way to control their entry because they were used the same plane before to control rabbits and other dangerous species in the twentieth century. The professor opposes this point by saying it is not an effective way. She illustrated that the young cane and the eggs are mostly located in the river beds so it is easy to cross along with water flow and no fence can stop their migration.
Second, The article avers that cane toad can be easily controlled by volunteers because it is easy trape and also easy to catch young toads and their eggs. However, the professor contended this point by saying although it might possible with massive volunteers if they are not trained properly, they could destroy the native species because the young cane toads resemble their traditional species.
Third, the passage posits that spreading of disease-causing viruses limits the growth of the toad species. The lecture cast a doubt on this point by saying spraying disease-causing microorganisms causes the horrible consequences. He illustrated that, yet the species are immigrating to the other countries, it carries their disease and impact on their native species. furthermore, he mentioned that those are the origin species for American and it attacked by viruses results in the imbalance of the ecosystem.
