TPO-16 - Integrated Writing Task The United Kingdom (sometimes referred to as Britain) has a long and rich history of human settlement. Traces of buildings, tools, and art can be found from periods going back many thousands of years: from the Stone Age, t

Both the lecture and the article are about the old cultural artifacts in the United Kingdom in the twentieth century. The professor tries to convince the class during the Twentieth century, that roles and guidelines have improved the archaeology science in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, the author of the reading talks about three major problems that the science of archaeology faced during that period.

First, the professor points out that before any construction takes place , the location has to inspected by archaeologist expert to make sure that it does not contain any valuable artifact. In case it contains it they will plan how to reserve it. This disputes the point made by the author of the article that construction have destroyed the majority of artifacts.

Second, the professor put forth the idea that the archaeological research is funded by the construction companies at every step in the process of preservation , not by the government , This cast doubt on the second claim made in the reading that the funding of this research is not enough to cover the different artifacts` sites.

Finally, the speaker explains that archaeologist are well paid and involved in every step in the uncovering and studying process. This opposes the last claim mentioned in the article that there are no jobs opportunities for archaeologist
