The reading passage claims that "let it burn" policy caused several damages in 1988. However, the lecturer casts serious doubts on this claim by presenting some counter-arguments and examples. She believes that this policy is not only destructive but also create a good situation in Yellowstone.

On the first place, the lecturer contends that this forest fire made a good base for growing new plants also they diversity increase in the fast rate. She provides an example of one type trees that after burning make a good space for cultivating other plants moreover one seed which germinates in the heat situation, thus by this advance various type of planets appear after that fire. This, however, is contradicted to the reading passage mentions that Yellowstone fires caused tremendous damage to the park's trees and other vegetation.

On the other hand, it is noted in the passage that the park wildlife affected as well by Yellowstone fires additionally make it impossible for the animals that survive the fire to return. In contrast, she clearly states that Yellowstone fire recovered the animal's population due growing the different types of plants which make the ideal habitats for animals. For instance, enhance in the number of the rabbits which can improve the population of predators which use these rabbits as a source of food.

Finally, the speaker points out that this Yellowstone fire was the combination of the numerous factor like low rainfall, strong wind and dry undergrowth, hence that massive fires do not happen every year and did not make any problem for tourists. Nonetheless, the text asserts that the fire compromised the value of the park, so decrease the number of the tourists because they decided to stay away from this forest.
