TPO 27The little ice age was a period of unusually cold temperature in many parts of the world that lasted from about the year 1350 until 1900CE. There were unusually harsh winters, and glaciers grew larger in many areas. Scientist have long wondered what

The article states that scientists have been proposed several possible causes for occurring the Little Ice Age and provides three possible cause. However, the professor explains that the information is out of date and with new information, none of these are correct.

First, the reading argues that it may have been caused by disrupting of ocean currents which are related to changing weather before Little Ice Age. Nevertheless, the professor refutes that cooling occurred only in some part of the northern hemisphere and it can not explain the cooling occurred in the southern hemisphere so it can not be a cause of the Little Ice Age.

Second, the article claims that volcanic eruption could have caused the Little Ice Age because it sends dark clouds fo dust and sulfur gas into the atmosphere and blocks sunlight from reaching the earth's surface. The professor contends that if there were enough dust, It would able to cause that situation but evidence shows that it was not so strong to be the cause of the Little Ice Age.

Third, the reading avers that substantial decreases in human populations and growing more trees may have contributed indirectly to the cooling of the climate. the lecture opposes this point by saying that there was not enough time to occur that conditions because the population grows back to normal in little time and forest cut down again.
