The article claims that Robert E. peary a well known explorer reached the north pole at 1909 and provides three reason to support that. However, the lecturer does not believe in these evidences. she refutes the article claim and opposes each reasons are stated in the article.
First, the article posits that National Geographic Society instruct a committe to invistigate peary's claim. they surveyed peary's record and equipments and finally aproved his success. On the other hand, the professor argues this by saying that these invistigations are not convincing. she accepts N.G.S declare did a research but she cast a doubt in this approvment. she said that investigator were his close friends and they sponsored him and they did not examined the evidences carefully. she believes they did research with a bias, then their results will not worth at all.
Second, the article supports peary's achivement by bringing another reason that recently another expediation repeated peary's expediation exactlly in 37 days which he did, from the same start point and the same destination. In contrast, the lecturer contends this reason by comparing the condition of eavery's journy to north pole. she states that in the recently journy the expeditor used new approach such as providing food with airplane during the way which it was not provided for peary. she states that this comparison is unfavourable and they are not in the same situation, hence the results should not be considered comparable.
Third, the article avers that photo of peary at the pole prove his achivement. it says that the researcher mesuered the shadow in this picture and they prove the sun position at that time and it is a strong evidance for his claim. The professor argues about these technic and picture and refutes this by explaining that shadow based measurement can not be percies to determine the sun position. she adds that these photos were captured by primitive camera which do not have good quality. they are phasy and faded. these pictures can't be used to proved his big claim.
