TPO 31

The reading specifies that there are three reasons that opposed the idea that Sinosauropteryx was a feathered dinosaur. However, the professor explains that this idea is strong and critics are unconvincing and refutes each of author's reasons.
First, the reading states that the structure of fine line were formed after the animal's death by decomposing. Nevertheless, the speaker states that the fossil of animal in volcanic ash were well preserve and it did not change its functional structure and the fine line is not cause from decomposition of skin.
Second, based on the reading, structure of fine line are just an ornamental and it is remains of frills. In contrast, the professor cost doubt on this point by saying that the material of frill and feather are different. Feather has some kind of protein but frill do no contain this protein. Therefore, we conclude that this structure are feather.
Third, according to the reading, feather's function were to help animal fly or regulate their internal temperature but this structure were located along the backbone and the tail of animal. On the contrary, the lecturer contradicts the idea reasoning that feather have other function. For instance, one species of animal uses its tail to attract mail and the recording shows that the Sinosauropteryx have a colorful feather and it display whose feather and it has a distinctive structure.
Therefore, the specific point mentioned in the reading do not make sense.
