Sailors in Russian submarine patrolling the North Atlantic and Artic Ocean heared strange sound in 1960s and contininued until 1980s. This sailors named this sound "quackers". There are different hypothesis about source of sounds which was also moving with great speed. The author mentions some probable source of the sounds and the reasons. But the lecturer thinks that there are certain problems about theories that author mentions.
First, the author thinks that orca whales created that sounds. According to author, orca whales creates strange sounds for attracting female during a courtship ritual. But the lecturer thinks that orca whales live near the surface of water and sailors heared the sounds deep in the ocean. The lecturer also thinks that submarins' solar would detect orca whales.
Second, the author mentions that it's possible that the source of sound was giant squad. Because giant squads don't have skeleton in their body and sonar can't detect these animals. Giant squads are intelligent animals and maybe they created these sound. But the lecturer thinks that ginat squad lives in oceans right now and they haven't had any evidance on repeading the sounds.
Finally, the author mentions that maybe sounds were originated from foreign submarines that were secretly patrolling in that area. But the lecturer thinks that direction of sounds changed quickly and there was no other noise, which is impossible by human technology. It's impossible for today's technology to create such a submarine that changes direction very quickly and have no engine noises.
