The reading passage lists three problems which hinder the establishing or permanent human station on Venus, while the professor in the lecture introduces the solution that building a floating station in the air to solve all the three problems.
The first advantage the lecturer says is that the atmospheric pressure will be lower in the high air. If people can build a floating base above 50 kilometres in the air, the pressure is equal to which in the Earth. That is to say, the worry in the reading that facilities and people will be crushed in Venus can be eliminated.
Secondly, the reading holds the view that the permanent station will be hard to get supplication because Venus lacks natural resources which are indispensable for the living. The professor mentions that people can use some components that existing in the atmosphere in Venus to produce materials people need. For instance, carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid can be used to make water and oxygen, which are necessary for human beings. Thus, the professor fights against the view in the reading again.
Finally, the professor represents his idea that building the station above 50 kilometres can also absorb the sunlight before it is reflected by the thick clouds. Since most of the thick clouds gather in the low air, the station will have enough solar energy form both sun and reflection, providing power to machines and equipment, which is far from the suggestion in the reading that little sun power is insufficient for electricity needs.
