It is noticeable that Yemen and Italy have different main populations in terms of age groups in 2000 but will own the same largest age people in the prediction for 2050. By contrast, both countries keep the different smallest age groups the same over the 50-year period.
In 2000, people who were birth to 14 years old contribute more than half of the population of Yemen while nearly two-thirds of Italian was 15 to 59 years old. In Yemen, the age group of 15 to 59 years ranked the second largest population with 46.3% of all people, following with only 3.6% of people who can live over 60 years old. There was 24.4% of people in Italy were older than 60 years old and only 14.3% of people were younger than 14 years old.
It is predicted that people who are aged over 15 to 59 years old consisted of the main population for both Yemen and Italy in 2050, with the proportion of 57.3% and 46.2% respectively. The size of the population who are over 60 years old will increase significantly in Italy to 42.3% and will reach 5.7% of all people in Yemen with a relatively slow increasing rate. The proportion of children under 14 years old would fall a little bit in Italy to 11.5% and decrease dramatically in Yemen by around 13 points.
