TPO 40: Integrated

The reading specifies that there are three main reasons to support the idea that it would be impossible to maintain a human presence on Venus. However, the lecture casts doubt on this claim and brings up three arguments to contradict each point made in the reading passage.
First of all, the author asserts that the atmospheric pressure on Venus is about 90 times greater than the surface of the Earth. On the other hand, everything of the human at Venus would be crushed. Nevertheless, the lecturer states that it is possible to invent spacecraft which can have lower atmospheric pressure in order to normalize the condition.
Second, based on the passage, there are much less water and Oxygen than the Earth. The atmosphere of this planet, in fact, is mostly made up of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sulfuric acid. While the lecturer mentions the idea that it would be practical to produce water by chemical materials.
Third, the reading passage proposes that accessing the solar power is another challenge of being at Venus. The sun light is reflected by dense clouds. However, the lecturer asserts that these thick clouds in Venus would be helpful. Although they reflect the sun light back to space, the electric power would be produced by them.
Therefore, the points mentioned in the reading do not make sense.
