The passage posits three theories about the how agnostids may have lived. However, the professor refutes the each theory and provides the three counter argument.
Firstly, the article implies that agnostids hunted the small animal as free swimming predator. On the contrary with this, the lecturer mentions that free swimming predator have very developed eye and they have sharp eyes for find the predators. But, agnotids have small and poor eyes, even some time they were blind. Predator if chase their prey they need the sensory organ to recognize to prey, and agnostids fossil not any sensory organ is founded.
Secondly, the passage emphasizes that agnostids were sea dwellers because of they were living the same as seafloor dwellers. In contrast with this, the speaker explains that sea dweller move slow and mostly not dispersed in the area. But the agnostids were found in the very large distance which is predicted that they were move fast. High speed is unusual for the seafloor dweller.
Thirdly, the author states that agnostids were parasites because of living and feeding off larger organism. On the other hand, the professor points out that since parasite mostly killed by the host organism, parasite population was small. But, agnostids are vast amount found in the fossil. Greater amount of population is not convincing that they were parasites.
