The lecturer refutes all the points in the reading regarding how to decrease frogs distinction. She explains why it is not practical in three points.
First, even though reducing pesticide usage would protect frogs life, it is not economically safe for the farmers. By doing so, they would lose corps, which were been protected by pesticides, and that’s too risky. It would have a huge impact in their market to compete with others. Thus, it is a sever disadvantage not an advantage as the reading states.
Second, although using anti fungal could be useful to treat frogs from skin infection, it is complicated and expensive due to the fact that it has to be given individually. In addition, frogs who will be treated will not pass it to their off-springs, which means it has to be repeated for every generation.
Last but not least, excessive water consuming and pollution is not the biggest factor, as the reading claims. In fact, global warming is the most contributor to frogs habitat. Therefore, prohibiting people from using water would not be helpful as long as the global warming remains an issue.
