In this set of materials, both the lecturer and the readin passage discuss the recent decline in the numbers of frog species. The reading passage puts forward three methods for solving this problem; however, the professor casts doubt on these three methods and mentions they are not practical.
Firstly, the article alleges that the pesricides are a crucial factor in the extinction of some frog species and the governments should ban the permit of pesticides near the frogs habitats. On the other hand, the lecturer articulates that reducing in the utilizing of the pesticides is not economically fair for some farmers because the farmers who should follow this rule cannot compete with other farmers in the sale of their products.
Moreover, the text contends that some fungus are a key factor in the decline of frogs by bringing about thickening of their skin which leads to death of the frogs due to dehydration. the article proposes the use of antifugal medication for cure of the frogs. Nevertheless, the professor avers that the treats should apply to every individual frog which is actually hard. Besides, the disease can be transfer to frogs’ offspring which makes the treatment complicated and expensive.
Finally, the essay asserts that the frogs are dependent on wetland habitats and many human activities threatend their habitats. Thus, if those habitats will be protected, many of the frogs will be subsisted. Conversely, the professor declares that this solution will not work out, because the main problem is global warming and the human being should solve the global warming issue and the wetlands draining has nothing to do with human's water use.
