Nano-carriers considered being one of the most viable candidates in cancerous solid tumors drug release. In drug delivery, it is important to comprehansively study the effect of nanoparticles diffusion and distribution in the capillary as well as the tissue. The interstitial fluid motion greatly influences the penetration of nano-carries inside the tissue. The purpose of current study is to numerically investigate the penetration of nanoparticles inside the capillaries, capillaries wall and tumor tissue under the influence of interstitial fluid motion. In this study, the capillary and its wall as well as the capillary surrounding (tumor) are modeled separately and solved using a finite element based code. All simulation parts including the capillary, blood, capillary wall and the cancerous tissue were respectively assumed to be in three-dimensional cylindrical mode with a non-Newtonian fluid motion and porous media which is saturated with interstitial fluid accordingly. The results show that interstitial flow affects the distribution of nanoparticle diffusion by 48%. Also, the average concentration of nanoparticles has been increased by 72% for those particles with a diameter greater than 250 nm. On the other hand, nano-particles smaller than 250 nm have penetrated deeper within the tumor tissue.
