The reading specifies that there are three possible reason to cause the little ice age. However, the lecturer casts doubt on this claim and bring up three points to reject the specific point made in the reading passage.
First of all, reading states that disruption of ocean current caused cooling. Nevertheless, the author say effect of disrupting of ocean currents only happening in specific parts like Europe and it can not explain the colder weather in southern Africa.
Second, according to the reading, volcanic eruption have a rule in little ice age. In contrary, the speaker explain that the volcano did not make enough dust to make this effect and also human did not report anything like snow gray and visual effect because of the dust. So, the dust was not strong enough.
Third, based on the reading, decreases in human population may help indirectly to lowering the temperature. In contrast, the lecturer states that the decrease in human population change immediately and changes to grow back and also forest was not long enough to cause cooling by absorb carbon dioxide.
Therefore, the specific points mentioned in the reading do not make sense.
