The article states about some theories toward the noises that Russian submarines have heard occasionally in 1960s and continuing until 1980s at North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean. The article also provides three possibilities to illustrate this phenomenon. However, the professor in the lecture casts serious doubt on the passage by using a number of points that are contrary to each of the author's reasons.
First of all, the reading claims that there is a possibility that these noises are related to male and female ocra whales during a courtship. In contrast, the professor refutes this point by saying that it was plausible at first but it not really true. He mentions that ocra whales do their courtships in the surface. However, the submarine's sonar technology generally has used in deep ocean not surface.
On another hand, the article posits that these noises may be caused by giant squids. However, the teacher describes that it so not believable because Russian submarines found these noises at 1960 and sounds continue until today. According to the professor these noises not suddenly start or finish.
Finally, the article makes it clear that some people argue that these noises are related to other countries submarines. Conversely, the lecturer opposes this point by explaining that is not about other submarines due to the fact that noises change in direction that is not about submarines. We also find that technology provides a lot of improvements in submarines' engines that they do not make any noises.
