The professor in the lecture is discussing a fossil skeleton of a dinosaur. she claims the fine lines surrounding the skeletal bones are feathers of a dinosaur, this idea is totally different from the reading passage.
First, the professor disappoints the fine lines may not a functional structure of a living dinosaur. she believes the fine lines are not dinosaurs' fiber because we could not see the same fossil on other types of dinosaurs. she claims these are feathers.

Last, the professor gives an example of Pika to explain the usages of feathers are not just helping to fly or keep their internal temperature. They also have another function -- displaying. actually, the fine lines are colorful and located along the tail, which all show that the main usage may be display themselves.
