TPO45 Integrated Writing

The focus of the reading and the lecture is on whether the structure found inside 200-million-year-old fossilized trees can be used to support bees' existence. The reading casts doubt on that thinking the trees cannot be used to support bees' existence. However, the lecture refutes that there're three following reasons that can support the theory.
To begin with, the reading states that no fossil remains of actual bees have ever been found that date to 200 million years ago. However, the lecture argues that the trees which can produce fossile don't exist at that time so bees could not be preserved as fossils, which means, the reading cannot use no fossil of actual bees to prove no bees' existence.
Besides, the reading states that there were no flowering plants existing 200 million years ago so there were no bees existing at that time. The lecture points out that bees could feed on other non-flowering plants, for instance, pine trees, and turn to flowering plants later. In other words, the reading's theory is not accurate.
On top of that, the reading asserts that while the fosslized structures found in Arizona are somewhat similar to nest chambers made by modern bees, they lack some of the finer details of bees' nests. On the contrary, the lecture argues that there're some chemical facts found in the structure. The special waterproof material used in that structure is special to the bees which could prove their identity.
