In this material, the reading discusses three advantages of Fuel-cell engines over internal combustion and would be a benefit to replace them in the future. The professor agrees that the Petroleum is an infinite energy resource and one day it would disappear. However, he believes that the Hydrogen Fuel -Cell power is not the suitable replacement or the best solution to this future problem. The professor casts doubt the three advantages in the passage as the following.
First, the author states that Petroleum would be depleted one day while the Hydrogen is available every was in nature and easily obtained. However, the lecture believes that, even though Hydrogen is available in nature, but the process of getting liquid Hydrogen is a complicated method. He explains the process of preparation liquid Hydrogen is not simple, and it is a tough process which needs -253 C to store that liquefied form of hydrogen available to be used.
Second, the reading passage claims that Fuel-Cell power is a suitable to solve the pollution problem. While, the professor rebuffs this idea and explains that even though in Hydrogen energy would not produce pollution as car fuel, but the process of preparation it in the factories needs a lot of burning cool and oils which in turns produce much more pollution than regular internal cell engines' fuel.
Third, the author thinks that the usage of this energy would be twice less expensive than conventional power. So it would be cost effective resource. Whereas the speaker refutes that idea, he believes that it would be costly to prepare that fuel because it needs the Platinum which is very rare metals and so expensive and there is no other metal would be helpful in the preparation of Liquefied Hydrogen Fuel.
All in all, the professor thinks it would not be the good replacement of using Fuel-Cell engines to solve this Petroleum depriving problem in the future.
