The lecture provides the necessary solutions the could be beneficiary on raising the tuna fish in farm which in turn overweigh the problems attributed in the passage. It is limpid from the lecture that the populations of tuna fish can be increased if the farmers follow the methods illustrated which can make tuna fish business profitable.
Firstly, the lecture refutes the claim made in the passage about the decline of wild tuna. The passage depicts that the young tuna can not lay eggs in the farm under captured condition which would result in reducing the numbers of wild tuna as the farmers will continue the process of catching wild tuna from the sea. But the passage overlooks the fact that injecting hormone to the young female tuna in the farm can capable them for breeding in the farms. These injection does not produce any health risk to tuna and safe for the consumer. Mentioning these facts, the author cast doubt on what is stated the passage about the plummating of tuna population.
Secondly, the lecture rebuts the statement made in the passage about the farmers of being merging into non-profitable status. According to the article, huge amounts of costly small fish are needed to feed the tuna fish that may turn the tuna fish business into non-profitable. However, the lecture says that cheap plants can be a suitable supplement of the expensive small fish. Moreover, the plants are enriched with sufficient proteins and neutrients that would be needed for the proper grow of tuna. Thus, the lecture proves that the speculation of the passage about tuna farming to turn into non-profitable is incorrect.
Lastly, the lecture points out a research on parasite of tuna fish at Southern Australia to invalidate the conjecture made in the passage about the effect of parasite. The parasite can bring deleterious effect on tuna with the process of weaken, growth reducing and even by causing death which is stated in the article. The lecture illustrates results of the research that the tuna farm can get rid off from the parasites by moving these farm into deep water as parasite would die there.
