The process of producing chocolate begins with putting cocoa beans into cocoa grinding, to afford cocoa liquor and some manufactured products. The liquor is used in two kinds of food industry and chocolate bar. When pressed into cocoa powder, it can be sold on to the food industry. Alternatively when pressed into cocoa butter, it is used, along with the liquor, to make industrial chocolate. After becoming cocoa butter, this will be combined with sugar and other ingredients and it will be refined to produce chocolate bars.
The pie chart indicates that the price of chocolate bar is divided up with five items. The cost of ingredients and overheads is the highest paid about 37%, while the farmer’s reward shows the lowest, only 4%. However, the supermarket receives 34%. A rather high 15% goes to government taxes, while 10% is taken by chocolate company.
