The reading claims that buzzing, which is a new tactic that advertising companies have started using it in response of ignoring commercial advertisements, has generated a lot of controversy and many critics would like to see it banned and it provides three reasons of support. However, the lecturer who is a part time job buzzer and he a student also. He talks about the phone service that interests him and he says that the reasons in the passage are misleading and give wrong impression and he refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the article avers that the critics complain that consumers should know whether a person praising a product is being paid to praise the product. In contast, the buzzer mentions that this point seems not true because a company finds one who likes the product and the buzzers are not ordinary advertising employee. In addition, he get paid from the company and he get the truth. This disputes the information made in the passage.
Second, the passage posits that since buzzers pretend they are just private individuals, consumers listen to their endorsements less critically than they should. On the other hand, the speaker opposes this point by stating that this is not true. In fact, the opposite is the truth. According to the lecturer, people ask a lot of questions such as the price of the product, and the service, so if the company sont sure that the product is good, it will not let the buzzer answer the questions.
Third, the reading asserts that worst off all is the harmful effect that buzzing is likely to have on social relationship because buzzing will result in the spread of mistrust and the expectation of dishonesty. Conversely, the lecturer argues that this point is stupid and if the product is bad so the buzzer will not say that it is good. Besides, the buzzer tried the phone and he loves it so the buzzing will lead to good expectation and good trustful.
