What discovery in the last 100 years has been most beneficial for people in your country? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice

In the last one hundred years, there have been some discoveries that have influenced my country. Those discoveries have changed the way that people used to live, in other words, their lives have become easy. Technology plays a key role in our lives, even I might say that it has an effect in the way that cultures behave. I consider that the most influential discovery for my country has been the internet for some reasons.

First, the internet has developed education and has increased students' knowledge. Years back, students relied on the professor to learn because he was the only one who might give them correct information. Although, there were public libraries, they didn't have enough books to meet the demand for students, in other words, when a bunch of students were requesting the same book, a group of them waited, while the others used the book. This was really inconvenient because they couldn’t finish homework on time. At least, this problem changed after public libraries adopted computers and later on access to the internet. With this in mind, the story took a different pathway, since students could find their homework online, in a wide variety of digital books. Furthermore, if they have any doubt about any topic, they might get online explanation by Skype from a professional librarian. Thus, students have better knowledge than years before.

Another aspect that should be reflected in this explanation is that the internet has developed our economy. My country's economy was based on agriculture, as we should know, this practice is only efficient when farmers used special equipments that are very expensive, so, many people fair in their efforts to harvest their crops because the equipment. When the internet appeared for the first time, it was such a blessing for the citizens in my country because they could find other sources to make money. With the helped of the government, citizens used the internet to promote tourism and also to sell local art articles online that resulted in a demanding and profitable business. This helped the economy because online costumers paid a fee to the government, thus the commercial activities developed and became the main aspect of the economy.

For all the reasons stated above, I claim that the internet has been the most influential invention for my country because it has had a big role in the education and the economy.
