The figure for local calls increased to a peak of 90 billion minutes in 2005, but fell to 72 billion minutes in 2008, which was the same figure in 2001. From 2001 to 2008, the number of minutes for national and international phone calls saw an upward trend, reaching its peak of 61 billion.
