In this set of material, the article and the lecture disagree on the merit of landing possibility on Venus planet. The reading passage states that based on the conditions of the Venus such as the high atmospheric pressure, no water in it and insufficient sunlight which is necessary to generate the power of space crafts machines, this planet is inhospitable for our population. In contrary, the professor in the lecture challenges those theories and believes that it is nothing impossible for the scientists to solve. Following are a brief explanation of the listening passage's perspective.
First of all, the writer in the passage asserts that the atmospheric pressure of venus's surface is remarkably higher than our planet which is the main reason behind crashing most of the spaceships before landing. However, the lecturer casts doubt this point; he says that scientists can overcome this problem and conquer the higher pressure of venus's landing surface via creating a spacecraft machine station capable of floating in the atmosphere which makes the pressure in the high mimic to the Earth's atmospheric pressure. Consequently, people can reach that planet safely.
Secondly, the author claims that this planet is rich with nitrogen, sulfuric acid, and carbon dioxide gasses but it lacks water, the essential part of living things; therefore, it is very hard to bring life there. Nevertheless, the professor in the lecturer refutes this issue, too. He suggests that human can use those molecules to produce water without any necessary to import any basic chemicals from the Earth there. So, it is very easy to create water in Venus.
Last but not the least, the article argues that the thick clouds of Venus's climate cause reflection of most of the sunlight away from the planet. And, most of the rocketships need solar energy to operate and generate power; therefore, this makes landing or even reaching its surface determinative. While the professor rebuffs this argument of the passage, he thinks scientists can overcome this problem by using both reflective light from the clouds and the remaining passing lights to generate the electricity of the spaceships which solves the problem.
