The reading passage introduces three ways to prevent the population of frogs from declining. On the other hand, all these methods are refuted by the speaker due to following reasons.
First, even though the reading passage states that the government should enact laws that prevent farmers to use pesticides which are harmful for frogs, the lecturer contends that it is not economically objective and fair since people compete with each other in the markets and if some people are prohibited from using pesticides in a way that other use pesticides, they will lose their target markets and it is not beneficial for them.
Second, despite the statement in the reading passage that by killing the fungus using heat it is possible to reserve more frogs, the speaker argues that it is too difficult to capture and treat every individual frog and use this medication and treatment on them. Moreover, this medication will not pass on their off-springs and so, it seems complicated and expensive.
Finally, the reading passage explains that as far as the frogs' natural habitats are endangered and imperiled especially by human activities, their population decreases. Conversely, the lecturer claims that human activity is not the main factor in diminishing frogs' population and the global warming features large in declining their population.
