The first chart below shows the results of a survey which sampled a cross-section of 100,000 people asking if they traveled abroad and why they traveled for the period 1994-98. The second chart shows their destinations over the same period. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The given tables illustrate the figures of a research on why 100 thousand people visited overseas from 1994 to 1998 and which countries they travelled in the same time.
Over the period, holiday reasons always left far behind the rest and Western Europe became the most favorable destination.
According to the first chart, there was roundly 15 thousand residents voyaged with entertainment purpose out of 22 thousand people asked in 1994. It covered around 70 percentages and this rate were kept stably until the end of period. In 1994, the number of citizens travelled with business purpose were around 3100 while nearly 2700 people visited to friends and relatives.
The second chart witnessed a domination from Western Europe where was selected by nearly 90 percentages of English people over the period. There were only 919 visitors to North America compared with more than 19 thousand people selected Western Europe as journey’s end in 1994. The number of traveler to other areas was almost 1800 in the same year.
