A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter the collage
The same nation curriculum for the students has some advantage and disadvantages. It seems that authorities evaluate its pros and cons in long-term period and short-term period and then such an important decision go over a country.
It is assumed that students should get familiar with a large spectrum of knowledge about their country or world regardless to their local environment. Actually, it may be wise to approve a geography course in which all students in United States learn about a famous national park in United States. Although in future they do not an opportunity to learn specific details about that famous park, it raises the question: "is it really necessary for all the students knows details of a nation park?" In several cases, the students asked to answer some irrelevant materials to their local geography question; and they cannot remember the details they have taught.
Secondly, the same nation program may waste resources of a nation like students' time or teachers' wage. Students spend thousands of hours in school before entering college, hence it is better that their time be scheduled effectively. The government should pay millions to teachers annually. It is obvious that some states needs more lower than engineer or some local governments needs much more manager than dancer; thus students need to be prepared for their local community and it is better to train them to fill jobs' spots.
Moreover, individuals have different abilities and their talents varies in a large range. If students with a high performance in math is asked to memorize a huge volume of books' names, they may lose their passionate to go to school as well as their tendency to attend a collage. Providing 'local-fitted' program of study based on students' talents and abilities not only motivate them to do their job at school well, but also encourage them to find their ways and continue their studying at collage.
In summary, many drawbacks and benefits can be expressed for a same nation curriculum. It may be wise to enforce a same nation program at first glance but drawbacks of the program are more serious than its benefits. The authorities is better to seek for local needs of society and arrange a 'tide-program' that meet those needs.
