"Formal educational credentials should be the most important factor in hiring employees."
Formal education is defined as the education that is accredited by secondary schools and universities, unlike the non-formal education that arises from reading much, experiencing life more with traveling, camping, volunteering, hobbies and even practicing sports.
As long as the formal education is an important factor in hiring employees, but it's not the only factor and it's not eligible to be the most important factor in determining which candidate who really deserves the job. The basements for which the mentioned before position was taken can be discussed in form of some examples.
Among examples that can be addressed here for supporting that position is for example, 2 employees graduated from the same university; taking the same major as well as the same secondary certification, an evaluation based on only formal education with not give so much decision on the who is to be chosen and assigned the job, for example someone who have experienced voluntary work will have much more skills than the one who hadn't which can be expressed in the his way in acting towards team-working, having much more cultural-sensitivity which in turn helps more in coping up with working in a company or a position which requires dealing with different nationalities and with employees of different cultural backgrounds.
It is true that sports as a non-formal education can address and help sustain more self confidence and better personalities for those who practiced in their lives. As sports give the experience of both winning and losing sometimes, helping in keeping the spirit up high and not losing hope. Business can also simulate the case of sports where not always business has to win and make profit, sometimes business witness times of non flourishing and down times, that might cause the employees to lose faith tin themselves and in the firm or organization where they work, someone with a high activism and high spirit will sustain more.
Having also a deeper look at what reading can do and how it can greatly affect the employees hired, it can be shown in the form of knowledge they gain through reading, giving readers more ability to stand out of the crowd, it appears flawlessly in jobs' interviews, when it comes to general knowledge questions or application fillings. It won't be hard to distinguish those who read much from those how don't read, finding deeper perspective views in every question they answer and every issue they are to analyze while leaving those who don't read standing faceless in crowd.
Leadership, sometimes it's critical need in a job and a must to have for those candidates applying. Formal education won't show evidence of who among the applicants are really fruitful with the leadership skill. relevant examples that can show leadership, is for example taking a group of friends and plan a traveling trip to a safari and do camping there.
Again, once more all the mention above examples show how it's very important to consider non-formal education and address more credit on it while choosing an employee in a position.
