The article states that many people doubt that whether the structure belong to bees or not and provides three reasons of support. However the professor explains it is possible and refutes each of the author’s reasons.
Firstly, the reading claims that there is no bees’ fossil which found 200 million years ago. The professor refutes this poin by saying that bees’ fossil have preserved by sticky liquid of one kind of trees. He states that there is no bees’ fosil from 200 million years ago but it does not mean at that time bees not exist. Maybe, the trees which provide to protect bees' fossil did not exist 200 million years ago.
Second, the article posits that there is a connection between bees and such flower and the flower firs appeared on Earth 125 million years ago. However professor says that bees existed before flower apperaed. According to the professor early bees did not depend on flower and when flower found out bees adapted the flower. After that, bees depended on flower.
Third, the reading says that the fossilized structure similar to modern nest chambers and the nest lack some of the details of modern bees’ nests and the fossilized strutures were made by other insect. The professor opposes this point by explaining that the chamber were built by bees. He also states that both nest samples were examined with chemical method and both modern and fossilized structure were made by similar wood material. The evidence show that the fossilized structure belong to bees.
