Some people agree that the government should pay for primary education, while others say that the government should pay also for secondary and university level education. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
A sound education system is a mandatory requirement for long lasting development. Thus, education must always be the country’s paramount consideration. However, some people believe that government should emphasis more on primary education by given financial incentives whereas others argue that secondary and tertiary education must also be funded by governments. In my opinion, the contribution of governments should be decisive in all levels of education. Therefore, they should allocate a great deal of money and resources for the entire education system to enable their citizens to be well educated.
On the one hand, governments should encourage people to direct their children to follow primary education since it allows children to learn fundamentals which are necessary to lay a good foundation for their future. Establishment of public schools, proving of free stationery and text books, and raising public awareness of importance of primary education are few measures that can be taken by governments to play their significant role in primary education.
On the other hand, sustainable socio-economic development can never be expected from a country if its government not giving adequate consideration to secondary and tertiary education. In fact, well educated and skilled professionals are real asset for a country not only to obtain economic prosperity but also improve living standards of society. Therefore, governments should invariably provide financial incentives for their inhabitances in acquisition of higher education. People who have benefited from free education invariably play a significant role in developing projects. Besides, their innovative ideas and expertise are invaluable to face new challenges and ensure the well-being of the whole society. Thus, I am of the view that governments can never deny their responsibilities in any area of education.
To sum up, governments should play an indispensable role in education system to equip their citizens with knowledge and skills. However, this could only be done by paying equal emphasis on all levels of education.
