Claim: When planning courses, educators should take into account the interests and suggestions of their students.
Reason: Students are more motivated to learn when they are interested in what they are studying.
I broadly agree with the claim and the reason regarding of the interests are the best teachers who will motivate students to learn actively. However, there are some disadvantage for both teachers and students if conduct the claim.
Admittedly, students are more motivated to learn when they are interested in what they are studying. the interests, which play the role of ca, will help the students face the difficulties bravely as well as overcome them. Thus, it's easy for students to research something profound. For example, when a student who is absorbed in biology meet some problems during the process of experiment, instead of worrying about it, he will search for the solutions actively. In contrast, for another student who does not like the study of a field at all, it will be hard to imagine that he will spend nearly a whole day doing experiment to find the answer, at alone actively treat the problem. For these students, interests in certain course will make them more actively, thus they will get more knowledge actively.
However, I do not think it is wise for the teachers to take into much account the interests and suggestions of their students. For students, it is more important to learn knowledge comprehensible but rather depending on their interests. Even if they want to work in the field of their interests, they also need to learn other necessary things no matter whether they like them or not. Without other field of knowledge, it will be difficult for them to development their interests field regarding that no knowledge is independent in the modern society.
Last but not least, different students are interested in a verity things, according to the point, if teachers consider all of their interests into the content of the course, the knowledge appears to be trivial. In addition, the number of the students who have the same interests of a field is uncertain factor. Thus ,for teachers, how to decide which course will be start or not? For instance, there are three students who prefer biology, at the mean time, six people treat the art as their favourite, in this case, it is difficult for teachers to plan the course due to their idea that to meet nearly entire students need of their interest.
In sum, i think it is not wise for teachers to take into more account the interests and suggestions of their students even though it is benefit for students to develop their interests. As a students learning the basic knowledge, it is the time to learn things broadly.
