These days more emphasis is being placed on university education. Vocational training is not encouraged, and thus there are few qualified trades people. To which extent do you agree or disagree?
Education, the backbone of a prodigious society, is spreading its roots since advancement has been turning this world into a global village. It is pondered that greater emphasize on university study has kept industrial technical studies at the back seat. Therefore, desires to be skilled workers is no longer of that importance. Here, I would like to accord with given statement.
Multifarious reasons are there to justify my view point. First and foremost, the vital function to hike the phenomenon of prefering university study over vocational is played by conventional attitude of people especially parents. For instance, country like, India, children are expected to be prodigious professionalists such as doctor, teacher, engineer, scientists, bank manager and so on. Therefore, reinforcement of parents is the behind stronger inclination towards university studies.
In addition, in terms of earnings and dignity in society, unlike vocational studies, university courses mark top ranks. For example, people completed vocational courses are assigned for manual skilled jobs those are paid far more less than doctor, teachers and other occupations. Furthermore, vocational institutes are lesser in numbers where as universities have widespread availability. Consequently, minimal tendency towards joining I.T.I is is quite obvious viceversa. Moreover, people nowadays tend to do smart jobs involving psychological abilities associated with former occupations rather than working as plumber, motor machenic, electrition many more comprising considerable physical labour. Hence, people are more intersted in university studies.
Last but not least, lack of awareness about the importance and upcoming noticeable demand of skilled workers might also a discouraging factor behind insignificant value to voctional courses. Simultaneously, universties not only offer quality study but also furnish opportunities to stride in sports, singing, dancing and other carriculam activities at national or international level by contrast, it might not be possible during vocational courses.
To recapitulate, the interst of students should be determining factor behind slection whether university or vocational institutes are best for his/her bright career. Thence, placing larger emphasize on one aspect is unjustifiable
