Some people think that wild animals should not be kept in zoos. Others believe that there are good reasons for having zoos. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Specific group of people such as environmentalists believe that preserving non-domestic animals in the captivity is cruelty and unethical, others however arguing that there are some positive effects to keep animals in the nature reserve.
On the one hand, animals need to live in the jungle with their peers and do their daily activities. It is their intrinsic right to be liberty without any cages and pens; in addition, they might be as a group or individual and effort to hunt prey or search for food and water in the desert just like human but in diverse domain. In this way, animal rights activities say that it is absolutely cruelty which animals have kept in the zoos, circuses, or even in people’s house as a pet. Wild animals would be lost their instinct for predating provided that they retain in the zoos and lose their kingdom.
On the other hand, if conservationists attempt to preserve endangered species by breeding programmes, brutal animals would be hale and powerful compared with the animals are living in the natural environment. When authorities and local council pay enough attention to their natural behavior and caused safe environment for them, animals could be safer of poaching, fatalities, injuries and other threats.
To sum up, not only preserving animals in the special place far from the wildlife is not psychologically damage, but it also helps them to keep fresh and health compared with the animals are living in the natural environment although animal rights activities have opposite ideas in this situation and they believe that protecting animals in the captivity is heartlessness.
