The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.
The map compares two potential locations for a new supermarket in a town of Garlsdon.
It is clear from the map that the first site is outside the town, which the second site is in the town center. Additionally, we can see that the position of both sites relative to a railway and three roads which lead to three smaller towns.
The most noticeable point from the map is that S1 is in the countryside and it lies 12 kilometers to the northwest of the town. This site is also good for local residents of Garlsdon and Hindon. S2 which is right in the center of Garlsdon and it is also close to the residential area.
In addition, there are three main roads to Garlsdon town center from Hindon, Bransdon and Cransdon. However, the central area is a no traffic zone, so parking would be a problem in S2. By contrast, S1 lies on the main road to Hindon, it would be more difficult to arrive from Bransdon and Cransdon. Both locations are close to the railway which links between Hindon and Cransdon.
