In the reading passage, the author calims that thre are three viable explanations for the advantages of applying salvage logging, as a practive in which the dead trees have been conveyed from the areas od forest affected by fire. However, finding all the ideas implausible and questionable, the professor casts doubt on what is presented in text and states that regardless of its seeming() benefits as a method for recovering the forest, this approach casues long-term environmental damages and even its economic benefits are not realistic.
At first, the author argues that falling the dead trees on the bottom of the forest left no space for growing the new plant accoring to this issue that it takes considerable time that trees get decomposed through natural process. Conversely, the lecture brings up the idea that this decomposition provide suitable condition for nutrishing() new vegetation by fetilizing(0 the soil. Indeed, if the dead body remove from the forest, the absence of nutritient in the soil will hinder the next plant generation's growth.
In addition, the reading passage holds the view that presence of some insects render the healthy trees vulnerable. On the contrary, the professor disputes this idea by clarifying the fact that althought this issue is true regarding the trees, these dead trees are proper habitat for other species including birds and jnsects as well that paly a crucial role for establishing long-term healthy forest. Consequently, salvage logging deteriorate() the circumestance.
Finally, the author asserts that industries can take benefits of dead trees to augment() their productivity and decline the unemployement rate. THe professor, thought, dismisses this point by subscribing the point that particularly in severe fire, only a smale segment of trees are usable; hence, its economic benefits will not last for a long time. Moreover, the workforce is not only temporary, but also this process requires apllying the helycopter and other vehicle that are capanle to transfer heavy trees that are so expensive. Besides, it needs individuals who are expert and experienced in this field that should be undoubtedly outsourceed. Therefore, they cannot use local workforce.
