The passage and the lecture discuss whether theseveral different teories that those are posed in reading are correct or not. The reading expresses that agnostids according to their families do activities like them. Whereas, the lecture mentions that the presented evidence are not strong and refutes them.
First, The reading claims that as primitives arthropods were strong swimmer and predators; therefore, the agnostids also had same characteristics. However, the professor in the lecture points out that the agnostids were animals with weak eyes, roughly they were blind; thus, the predator attribute is not reasonable because the predators need to strong eyes for prey, however, the agnostids prey on sensory methods.
Moreover, The passage believes that it is more likely that they were dewelled in seafloor due to they could be alive by scavenging dead or by grazing on bacteria. Nevertheless, the woman in the lecture disagrees with this statements due to the place that the remain fossils were found is far away from the seafloor. otherwise, the agnostids were not able to move fast or a large distance; therefore, they could not live on seafloor.
Finally, the passage declares that there is evidence that approve the agnostids were parasites; so, they feeding off larger animals. Although, the lecturer refutes this idea with this statement that the agnostids were a huge number in population; hence, if they had feed off animals, the animals would have dead because of the large number of parasites are killer for animals even large animals.
Although the passage expresses three different evidence to confirm the idea that the agnostids had been lived like their families and present them, the lecture has negative opinion about these idea and rejects them with strong evidence.
