Reading and lecture are about possibility of powered flight by Pterasaurs. Reading put forth arguments that these dinosaurs are not well functioned to fly. While, lecture argues these points by proving following reasons:
First, reading states that pterosaurs are not able to produce enough energy required for flying due to low metabolism of these cold-blooded species. While lecture cast doubt on this statement. She suggests that there is couple of evidences from fossil that they possess dense like covering which is responsible for generating heat inside their bodies irrespective of cold atmosphere outside. In addition, she points out these pterosaurs have high metabolism require for flying.
Second, reading mentions that being large and heavy these pterosaurs are incapable to fly. On the other hand, professor says that it is discovered that their anatomical structure contains hollow bones, which are light in weight, and refutes point make in reading. Furthermore, she thinks that they can efficiently fly with low weight and flapping their wings.
Third, reading implies that lack of strong musculature in their back leg muscles reduces chances for them to take off like birds. On the other hand, lecture denies that, she says unlike birds that only use legs to run and jump, but pterosaurs have more potential as they use all fours limbs like bats to run fast and develop momentum to fly. As a consequence lecture successfully casts doubt on points made in reading
