Given is the chart providing statistical information about the level of imprisonment in various countries namely, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada during 1930-80.
We can immediately see that on average the number of people who were in prisons had not changed significantly for five decades. It is also apparent that the maximum rates of imprisonment were observed in the USA.
