You play a team sport with some friends. Last week a member of the team had an accident and wasn't able to play with you at the weekend. You decide to write to him in hospital, telling him about the match.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,
• tell him which team won
• describe the conditions on the day
• say how you felt about the match
Dear John,
I hope this letter finds you in better health. I am writing to inform you about the last night’s match between TRE United and our team.
It is with joy and delight that I should say we won the match with flying colors. While initially, we were 2 goals behind, we managed to score 2 goals in the 85 and 88 minutes, and in extra time, Ricci and I scored two more goals. The spectators went crazy when the final whistle was blown.
I am sure that you have heard the news that although the weather was perfect during the match, it was pouring rain when it came to our victory celebration; so we had to make it short. I felt extremely proud of our game last night because we played admirably. I’m sure you would have had the same feeling if you were there. Of course, it is needless to say that we wouldn’t have come this far in the season if it wasn’t for you.
I hope you start feeling better soon and are up and around before you know it.
All the best,
Willie
