The graph represents waste recycling rates in the U.S. from 1960 to 2011.In 1960 both percentages was achieved there least rates ,about 5.6% in total waste recovery and 6.4% in recycling , while the highest rates was achieved In 2011,about 86.9%in total waste recovery and 34.7% in recycling.
Firstly from 1960 to 1985 there was an increasing trend of rates in total waste recovery. Furthermore there was a marked up rise in between 1985 to 1995 which is 16.7% to 55.8% and then after 1995 trend was changed to gradual rise and achieved their highest which was 86.9%. Moreover in recycling there was slightly a difference in rates between the 1960 to 1975. In those years the difference between the rates was not more than 1%. Then the recycling pattern changed and turned to increase. From 1995 to 2005 there was an approximately uniform increase in recycling and then in 2011 reached their peak value 34.7%.
Overall, always there was a higher percentage in total waste recovery than the recycling.
