The charts below show how selected age groups purchased concert, cinema and theatre tickets online over the first three months of 2006 in three countries and how the internet was accessed.
The left bar chart depicts the proportion of people in two age groups 25-44 and 65+ bought concert, cinema, and theater tickets online while the right one shows how the desktop computer, laptop and mobile phone were accessed to purchased tickets. The data were collected in three countries, Australia, the UK, and Malaysia, over the first three months of 2006. The unit was used in both two charts is the percentage (%).
It can be seen from the first chart that, in both Australia and the UK, there were more young people than old people bought the tickets on the Internet. To be more precise, the percentage of people aged between 25 and 44 in these two countries who bought the tickets online was significant high with just over half, while that of aged 65 and over witnessed approximately 45%. On the other side, in an Asia country, Malaysia, a different picture can be seen with the higher proportion for the age of 65 and over, although there was a tiny difference by only 2%.
In the way of purchase the tickets, desktop computer mainly was accessed by people in both three countries with around 60%, followed by the laptop with 30% of England, and 40% of people in Australia and Malaysia used it to book the tickets. With no more than 30% of users, mobile phone was the less common tool that people used to buy the tickets on the Internet.
In conclusion, the most significant amount of people, who bought online tickets relates to the continent. Interestingly, the highest usage of tools to buy the tickets was in Malaysia.
